Welcome Music Concert – Rodovid

Das Ensemble Rodovid vermittelt mit Folkloreliedern ukrainische Tradition.

Die sechs Sängerinnen Olena Levytska, Solomiya Dyshlyuk, Iryna Das, Kateryna Zhuk, Olena Popadiuk und Liliia Korzun kommen aus verschiedenen Regionen der Ukraine (Tscherkassy, Winnyzja, Kiew, Lwiw und Odessa) und haben sich in Hamburg kennen gelernt.

Im Oktober 2022 gründeten sie das Ensemble, um ukrainische Folklore bekannt zu machen – unter deutschen Zuhörer*innen, aber auch unter ukrainischen, die hier in Deutschland leben.

Der Name ist dabei Programm: Rodovid ist das ukrainische Wort für Vorfahren und Stammbaum. Das Ensemble singt nicht nur ukrainische Lieder in der ganz typischen und beeindruckenden Vielstimmigkeit, sondern trägt auch traditionelle Kleider.

„Unsere Vorfahren gaben uns Traditionen und kraftvolle Lieder. Wir hüten sie, entwickeln sie und teilen sie mit anderen“, sagt das Ensemble.

The ensemble Rodovid conveys Ukrainian tradition through folk songs. The six singers – Olena Levytska, Solomiya Dyshlyuk, Iryna Das, Kateryna Zhuk, Olena Popadiuk, and Liliia Korzun – come from various regions of Ukraine (Cherkasy, Vinnytsia, Kyiv, Lviv, and Odessa) and met in Hamburg. In October 2022, they founded the ensemble to introduce Ukrainian folklore to both German and Ukrainian audiences living in Germany.

The name is meaningful: „Rodovid“ is the Ukrainian word for ancestors and family tree. The ensemble not only sings Ukrainian songs with their distinctive and impressive harmonies but also wears traditional clothing.

„Our ancestors gave us traditions and powerful songs. We preserve them, develop them, and share them with others,“ says the ensemble.
